International Women’s Day

Kudos to all men and women who are respected and recognised for their accomplishments but I don’t feel like celebrating this one day exclusively for women as I don’t see women as second to men in any way. I hate to hear words like beti bachao, women empowerment, break the bias & inclusive culture. It is painful to see many deserving women even today being paid unfairly despite working independently & handling a bigger scope. There is no pay parity observed even in successful business units which fail to see women as equal to men due to a patriarchal work culture and mentality.

It’s painful to see women even today in modern day and age being bullied, exploited, sabotaged, belittled, scammed, slandered, mentally tortured by educated, jealous men who can’t see women doing well and rising steadily on their own. Unfortunately unless it’s an MNC culture, crimes against women are not given proper attention-women who speak up are often silenced and brought down to cover up corruption. Men who say they respect & celebrate women- where are these men when they see a lady being harassed? Why leaders don’t step up to take ASAP measures when a lady reports abuse? It’s a painful journey for women who suffer abuse, why should celebrate?
