It really doesn’t matter which faith, which religion you come from. What is important is do we put into practice what God, a specific deity, divinity teaches us. Ram teaches us how to live life, Krishna teaches us to fight adharma, Jesus teaches us to forgive and heal. Are we putting into practice what all of them teach us?
We must respect our religion however it is equally important to not be egotistical of our belief system or what we have been conditioned to believe in since childhood. We should always be receptive and respectful towards other religions and their belief systems when we stay together in a society.
They don’t respect our religion so we should not respect theirs. No. Imagine our beloved family member is in the ICU battling for life and a doctor comes in and saves our person miraculously. Do we check their religion and caste? Oh’ now we know the doctor who saved our person was a Muslim, a Sikh, a Hindu or may be a Christian. We never know who God sends us help through. Be receptive.
Our first relationship is with God, not the religion, nor the books, nor the scriptures. Tell me something, when are we the most closest to God? It is when we pray in spirit, when we express our happiness, our achievements, our sorrow, our concerns, our guilt, our shame in spirit. In vedic astrology why 12th house is the house of spirituality? Why is 12th sign Pisces, the last sign of the zodiac the sign of spirituality? It is because 12th house and the sign of Pisces represents isolation, our imaginary world when we close our eyes, the farthest place where a human cannot reach in the physical world. There sits God.
What do we first see when we close our eyes to pray in spirit? We either see darkness or light. But then what is it telling us? It is telling us that the higher power we look upto is ONE. Organically what is see is oneness. We may be born a Hindu, a Muslim, a Christian in this lifetime as we may have a purpose, karma to deliver however know this, that our soul has travelled many lifetimes on this planet. Do we remember what was our religion by origin 5 lifetimes before? 7 lifetimes before? No, right? So be respectful towards everything that helps us learn, grow or what makes us wise.
If we learn something good from Krishna take it. If we learn something good from Jesus, Lord Ram, take it. All divinities work in harmony otherwise the universe would not function like it does everyday. All natural elements created by God don’t have a religion. The Sun rises on time and sets on time- his light is for everyone. Beautiful Beas flows freely across states- she never says my water is only for the Hindus. Karma, divine intervention, divine justice is for everyone. It is not religion specific. Brotherhood first, because God is ONE.
