IMPOSITION of Hindi in every state is wrong.

Home Minister of India puts Gujarati first over Hindi then what is wrong if Kannadigas, Maharashtrians, Tamilians or even Bengalis stand up for the honour of their state language and culture? We are not against Hindi but imposition of Hindi. We love all our regional languages and culture.

Hindi is not our national language so in first place imposition of Hindi in every state is incorrect. If states are comfortable speaking in their respective regional languages why should Hindi be forced upon them? Rural population in every state cannot even afford proper education and basic means of survival. They only understand their regional languages. If you give them forms to fill up in Hindi, will it not be inconvenient for them? Think about it.

It is every state’s sovereign right to protect and honour their regional language, and culture. At the same time it is every citizen’s moral responsibility to learn at-least basic local language and culture of the state in which they have been residing and working for decades.

If you make Mumbai, Chennai or Bengal your home, your generations have been staying in these states then saying I will not learn or speak Marathi or the respective state language is disrespecting local culture and hurting their sentiments. You cannot go to the United States and say I won’t follow their rules and regulations- you have to. If you don’t respect them, why will they respect you?

Go to East India, go to west India be it Maharashtra or Gujarat, go to any part of South India or even go to Punjab and Rajasthan….at least 80% people know Hindi in addition to English and their respective local language. Do even 1% population in north India know other Indian languages like Marathi, Gujarati, Malayalam, Tulu, Kannada or Bengali? No. If there is so much resistance towards learning basic regional language, then how will people respect locals and their culture?

When Indians travel to north India, sure we should speak in Hindi because it is understood locals there speak Hindi and they don’t know any other Indian language. If people travel for work, leisure to other states surely we all must co-operate and not force regional languages on such people as they have no intention to settle in that state. However staying in a state for decades and not showing the willingness to learn even basic local language is ARROGANCE.

Agreed we must not force a language however we voluntarily in such scenarios should show willingness to learn and co-operate. If Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj knew more than 10 languages why should we not show willingness to learn the local language of the state we make our home?

Mumbai havi saglyanna pan Marathi bhasha ani Marathi manus nako? Why will then Maharashtrians respect migrants? You show this arrogance in Karnataka, Bengal or Punjab, even they won’t respect you. Give love, you will receive love.
