It means if you have a special, personal relationship with Jesus (son of God) or say any divinity and if Father (God) sends an invitation to you to serve him and his son, you’re called. Many are called but only few are chosen meaning those who have recieved Christ will come to serve the kingdom of God- they are chosen.
God loves everyone equally however for certain works of God we call kingdom work, he may choose one of us. In simple words Jesus chooses his apostles. These are people who step outside of their societal norms and expectations to follow a different path which is unique in purpose. They have a strong calling from God to serve him and hence are favoured by God. These people are spiritually protected as they are on mission to serve his kingdom.
Jesus started as a preacher and then went on to be a master healer. He was sent by father to save the world meaning Father gave his only son Jesus as ransom to save the sinners, Jesus took their punishment. He was given as a sacrifice, a substitutionary atonement to enable sinners reconcile- get right with God.
Chosen ones are called to serve a higher purpose in life- inspire change, bring healing and uplift humanity- because that’s exactly what Jesus did. However being chosen comes with a higher purpose and ony hence persecution follows you. Persecution means? Many against 1 for saying the right thing, doing the right thing (nobody is going to like you).
Persecution will follow the chosen ones as the devil energy in the universe (envy, hate, lies, lust and greed) is after works of god. The devil already knows God chose you to work for his kingdom, to glorify God’s name. The devil influences/manages to use people closest to you to go against you to delay, abort works of God. Closest because what people closest to you say to you, do to you affects you and this can drain you to give up on your life, give up on the mission God chose you for and to give up on your faith in God.
However, Matthew 5:10 says- Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. What does this mean? you will be blessed by God for doing that what is morally right.
