Legacy in literal terms is the money that is left to you or by someone as a gift. But if we are to see true legacy it is something you did in this lifetime that made a lasting impact on people in such a way that even future generations will remember you and seek inspiration from the work you did or simply the way you lived your life. That’s how I see legacy.

Not your wealth, your popularity or success- oh he was that billionaire right? Well offcourse they worked hard to be one and they deserve all the praise and recognition but when I say legacy- the first thing that comes to our mind is the work done.

It’s the massive impact the work you did that gave you your identity. Your work should speak for your name and not the other way round. That’s legacy. Someone like a David Miliband. I didn’t know who David is until I followed his work and wow what I found was a man who lived a purposeful life. He goes to this country, that country, helping people, rescuing people- see the impact he and his team has made to so many lives across geographies- he works selflessly even at the age of 60. I really wish I met him before Louise Shackelton.

Or say legendary Lata Mangeshkar. She is not with us anymore, she lived such a simple life but tell me don’t we astral travel to a different world when we listen to her songs even today? Generations will remember her songs and that’s why we will always remember Lata Mangeshkar- got it?

That’s why I say don’t chase money, status and fame. You can desire it but rather focus on excelling the work you’re passionate about, the life purpose God chose you for. Keep delievering your best not to leave a legacy behind or to be remembered but to make your life worth living and purposeful.

Your name should never leave a legacy behind, your work should. Samajla? Nahi samajla? Marathit saangu? 😊 ✍
