Sita was an Earth angel. Sita’s character was tested in Ramayana. After she was rescued from Ravana, people gossiped and raised doubts on her purity. Sita prayed to God Agni, requesting to be burned to ashes if she was unfaithful. She entered the flames but the fire began to go down, Sita however stood unscathed. The flames reduced themselves to ashes. The gossips about Sita however did not stop. She chose to disobey Rama when he asked her to enter the fire again. Rama then deserted her for the people of his kingdom and Sita was then taken to the forest to live life in an ashram. Sita looked at the ground and asked Mother Earth to take her back. The earth separated in two, Sita stepped in and was never seen again. She ended up reuniting with nature. Sita came from Mother Earth, stood by Lord Rama through all his trials and tribulations but she returned to the ground. In the end, Lord Rama and the people of his kingdom suffered greatly without Sita.
Lessons we learn from Sita:
Battling all the difficulties in her life, Sita never lost her grace. She stood in her independence, power and refused to be tested again. She spent her last days in the forest and asked Mother Earth to take her back. Never allow anyone walk all over your dignity. Respect yourself- Our body, our character, is our worth.
